At the time of Sam’s rite of passage her
standing place was in the
southwest of the west of the big south moon. The number 1 on the diagram
above designates this place. The number 2 is Bear Heart’s standing place
and the number 3 is Grandmother Wisdom Keepers.
On the small wheel of Sam’s
standing place, you can see the numbers 12.9 are at the bottom (south)
and the numbers 13.6 are in west). Sam’s age fits between these two in
the southwest. The number 12.9 means twelve years and nine months.
