The founder of the Bear Tribe, Sun Bear,
an amazing Chippewa Native, published a book in 1980 called The
Medicine Wheel Earth Astrology with the assistance of Marlise Wabun
Wind. He received much of what was written through visions. Then my
first Native teacher, Thunder Strikes, through visions and channeling of
his own, enhanced the astrology portion of Sun Bear’s works. I learned
of these teachings during my apprenticeship to the Deer Tribe and I
honor both men for their generosity in sharing. I have worked
extensively with this knowledge, which is much more vast than what is
given in Discovering the Magickal Mysterious Character, and the
accuracy of the teachings never cease to amaze me.
I have had profound experiences where animals have given me messages,
messages that were vital for me to hear at that time. Sometimes they
were not what I wanted to hear, but at the same time always brought me
understanding and helped me to connect with my inner warrior, that
essence that demands we take responsibility for our lives.
Studying the nature of
the animals that Great Mystery gave me at birth, (my totem is the
Red-tail Hawk as is Samantha’s) has brought me answers to why I react to
life the way I do, what is blocking my natural flow of energy, and how I
can align with the elements of nature to eliminate stress and disease
from my life. My teachers have always said, “Life is not meant to be
hard, but easy, if you will only align with the energies of the
Universe.” The animals have answers for me and they may for you.
